...has been with us for over a week now. And just now was the very first time he hasn't leapt up when I have readied myself to stand up. I mean, it isn't like I suddenly bolt out of the chair, you know. Well, I don't do a grand jete out of the chair - I do more of an old-grandma-with-a-new-knee careful rise. But anytime I have moved in the chair he (and then Kirby) leap up and go with me. Up the stairs, down the stairs, into the bathroom, down to the basement...etc. It gets to the point that I try to stay busy where I am just so they don't follow me everywhere.
But it really has been fun for the most part having him here. There are times, I must say that I look at him and think...this is like having two little kids again with all of their picking and poking and egging each other on. And they do little nips and bites until I smack Kirby in the rear with a kitchen towel, and then they go to their respective corners. For a time-out.
We had the little plastic swimming pool out for a bit. It is a great place for Roman to get a drink of water, but it wasn't warm enough the last few days, and he gets into the pool and stands in it while he drinks (think horse in the river).
Yesterday Peter & I finally vacuumed the kitchen and hallway floor - Peter shook the hallway rug before I vacuumed there. It looked like BERGLUND BEACH. Dirt Dirt Dirt!
So the slobber, the dirt, and the nit-picks at each other (and the gas is amazing) make me glad I am calm and patient with them both. They really have had fun together, and I am glad that we can watch Roman. And I know Roman will be glad to go home and rest!

This little chick is named after me!
So, here I am, born just a day ago...named Linda...for me. Aren't I cute?I wonder about the new life of a chick. What are they thinking? They cannot be thinking...something, something, chicken dinner! I love her too much! I first write love, change it to like, and then wonder what is before like...maybe appreciate?

We are trying to clean out before we add again...
...not totally true. We have to use up what we have because we don't have the $ to buy more this week. However it is an amazing adventure. We had good steaks last night, and a turkey tonight! I made that this morning/afternoon, and folded potatoes in foil (for something different), and great great great gravy! I thought a few times, Linda Linda Linda why are you doing this when you have to wash your hands every two minutes (blow my nose, blow blow blow)? I would bend my head down and would just drip. Anyway...the turkey, potatoes and gravy were delicious. I felt...fulfilled. And I will make biscuits tomorrow for an add-on.
And am planning to make soup for the bones.
And am planning to make soup for the bones.
You cannot BELIEVE how mad I was!...
Okay, I now I was still feeling the effects of my cold...but I took Kirby with me to Cub to pick up just a few 'majors' such as Puffs Plus with Lotion, butter (hello Paula), bread, only a few cans of Fancy Feast - okay for you not to buy any, but have you ever tried to withstand the stare of the cats? - and a bag of Yukon Gold potatoes. As I entered the Cub Foods parking lot I was shocked and dismayed (more like horrified and totally mad) at the people who were parked along the side just waiting for someone to come back out of the store. Or in the lane where people could not back out of their spot...etc.). I was yelling (poor Kirby) at the people, saying that they shouldn't be blocking free traffic. Ooh, I actually said I would be glad to shoot them (Hello, MAD!). I finally got far enough to the other side of the parking lot that I could turn down an aisle to park and shop. Finally. I relaxed enough to shop, and then saw my neighbor who said, "Boy, you must be sick, your nose is so red." That certainly picked up my spirits!

Where do they come from, dag nab it!
I have begun to keep a pair of tweezers in my pocket.
Yes, it is true! Every time I drive somewhere and look in the rear view mirror I see another hair on my chinney-chin-chin...and it wasn't there a few minutes before that! So I grasp that one out with a pull and a yank and get a strong thicker-than-hair hair out. Then, when I use the bathroom and look in the mirror I see more - and they weren't there before, either!
Where are they coming from? How are they growing so long? So fast?
What did I do to deserve these little weasels? Does everyone get these? Why do they bug me so much?
